On Saturday 16th October members of the MFDS went down to a local supermarket and packed bags of those shopping.

We raised over £500 which is a fantastic effort.

A big Thanks needs to go to Freda Black who arranged this bag pack and who stayed for the whole duration of the day. (9am – 6pm) and thank you goes to all those people who took time out of there busy schedules to go down and give an hour or two to help.

Well Done!!

Friday 8th Oct there was yet another successful Bingo evening.

Approx 20 people were there that evening and were entertained by our bingo caller. There were plenty of prizes to won along with a great selection of raffle prizes.

Clare had laid out plenty of nibbles for everyone and drinks kept on flowing.

Thanks go to Clare for her hospitality and Margie for being a great Bingo caller!!

On Saturday 18th September 2010, the MFDS held a coffee morning at Castletown Civic Centre.

Members of the MFDS had been extremely busy making crafts and cakes to sell during the morning.

Thanks go to all those who had made things.

We had plenty of people come who also got entertained by the MFDS when they put on a display of dances. Plus they had the chance to win in the raffle.

We made over £300 that morning, so well done everybody for their brilliant efforts yet again!

Congratulations to 7 of our Junior Memebers who took part in Chruinnaght Aeg  Concert/Competition on Wed 19th May 2010.

They performed a balance programme which had a selection of traditional and newly created dances. Our only male dancer that night performed a polished performance of Gorse Sticks (Well Done Tim!), and the girls performances of Harriers in the Heather, the Ladies Jig and Gyn Ennym were also very well performed (Well done Girls).

Four of the girls competed in the group dance category in which they danced Kerrin Rinkee. They were foot perfect and extremely enjoyable to watch, couldn’t have asked for anymore. They won this category with 89 marks.

We got the highest overall mark of the evening and walked away with the Chruinnaght Aeg Glass Trophy.

Thanks go to Rachel for all her hard work that went into putting the programme together and putting the time in to practice with them.

Well done, very proud of you all!!
